Follow-up from Wednesday

I know a lot of people have anxiously been awaiting the update after mommy's appt on 8/15. Sadly it isn't very exciting. Please don't panic... Baby B is ok. First of all mommy was told by a lot of people when she said she was getting genetic testing done that day that it HAD to be an amnio. Even daddy started to believe that the had doctors told mommy and him that this appt would include an amnio. Bottom line is.... No Amnio, only blood work, mommy was right. This also means that mommy spend hours freaking out for nothing. To add to the frustration and confusion the doctors did not do an ultrasound this time because mommy should be getting an advanced ultrasound from radiology around 18-22 weeks. That ultrasound will measure all of the baby's organs, growth rate, and most likely discover the gender of Baby B. Of course this means we have to wait until we arrive at Elmendorf AFB next month to find out. I must say that I am happy mommy didn't have a horrible ordeal at her appt, but I am sad I still don't know if I am going to have a little brother or sister. I know it sounds selfish, but I want to sit with mommy and start to pick things out for the baby online. I enjoy the quiet, quality time mommy and I have on the computer. Plus I want to be apart of the baby decisions and help pick things out especially since the baby stores are mean and don't allow pups to come along on shopping trips!
