Tiger: I shall start with the disclaimer that this post was completed at the
end of the soccer season.
Mommy went with Ms. Delania to enroll Bobby in the spring session of soccer. Bobby was so excited & asked every day if it was time to play soccer. He was ecstatic when it was time to shop for his soccer supplies. He picked everything out himself just like a big boy. He was so excited that he wanted to wear his soccer gear as soon as my family returned from the store.
When telling our Nana about all of this she asked Mommy if that meant we would soon have a soccer mom sticker on our car. It took mommy a minute then she realized she had indeed volunteered herself to become a soccer mom. Mommy replied "You know if I had thought that through I would have signed him up for t-ball instead." Silly mommy

In the time between enrollment & the first practice my parents took Bobby out several, times in his soccer gear, to practice. Of course the first time Bobby fell & scraped his knee up pretty bad. I think that took some of the sparkle out of soccer for my brother.

As the first prectice rolled around my parent walked Bobby down to the soccer field near us. Not knowing how long it would take they left pretty early. Turns out they got there almost 30 minutes before his soccer practice was to begin. Not realizing what lay ahead my parents played around with Bobby in the fields to kill time until practice. Once practice time came Bobby was already tired (insert the dun, dun, dun sound). A tired & cranky Bobby is not 1 for change in routine. Therefore he was very fussy & hid from the other kids & coaches. He refused to participate with his team & kept running away. He was more than happy to play with daddy far away from where his team practiced but he had no interest in being with everybody else. My parents wound up taking Bobby home 10 minuted before practice ended.

Unfortunately life threw us some curve balls & it was a few weeks before we were able to return to soccer practice. Bobby refused to go & by refuse I mean full on temper tantrums. The first time daddy caved since mommy was out. The second time mommy caved because daddy had just left. Now here we are, soccer season is over & Bobby only went once *sigh* It just wasn't meant to be right now.
