Renn Fest 2011

Bobby: On Sunday morning Mommy woke me up & said we were heading out on a special adventure today. I was so excited, but I was nervous too. After all Mommy hadn't mentioned this adventure to me before that moment. I wondered what it could be... another train ride? a trip on a pirate ship? a new park? another visit to Western MD?? I was clueless but I was very curious.

After a shorter car ride than I had expected we pulled up to this strange looking gate with a giant parking lot. I had never seen anything like this or at least that is what I thought. Mommy announced that we were at the MD Renn Fest & I hadn't been here since I was a little baby. Well I definitely think I would remember something like this even if I was a baby. There were people all crowded around just waiting but I had no clue what they could be waiting for. I asked mommy what the big sign said... she read it to me... I asked her again what the sign said & she actually explained it to me. It said this was where you buy your ticket for fun. Well that doesn't help me any ;-)

Once we bought our tickets I got to ride on a stone lion. That right there should have been my first sign this day was going to blow my little mind but I was too busy holding onto the coolest leaf I 'never seen" & riding a stone lion! Soon a band came to play on top of the giant wall blocking our way in. It was neat & everything but I just wanted to see what was on the other side. Then came these people dressed in very strange clothes followed by the King on horse back... yeah I said King (How cool is that!!).

Once the gates opened we were off to wander the fair. In an effort to spare you my toddler ramblings & mind blowing day let me just break it all down for you... First mommy got her palm read. I found that very boring but then mommy took me on this giant slide built into the hill side & it ended at a playground. In this playground was a giant... PIRATE SHIP! I played on everything, climbed a rock wall, then needed to sit down for a break & we had only been there for an hour! After my quick little breather I got to hurl frogs with a mallet (Don't worry they were rubber), throw balls up into this strange contraption & watch them "plink" down to the bottom, I shot cannons at more pirate ships, found treasure, cleaned my treasure & had a guy with a funny accent explain all of my new rocks to me. After that we shopped some I went string bowling & tried to drench a wench. I was so busy having fun that mommy couldn't get me to eat. We ended our day by watching some clowns... well mommy called them mimes... do tricks & blow bubbles.

I passed out in the car from "awesome" overload & woke up on our couch. If I didn't still have my new rock collection & a super cool shield I would've thought I had just had one crazy amazing dream. Here's hoping Colorado has something like this because I so want to that again :-)
