Story Time- Part 2

Sparky: It is that time again this month. We are going to hear the story of mommy & daddy falling in love with me, Sparky! This is one of my favorites. You know the drill... grab a snack and hold on as we travel back to early June 2006 ->->-> On a nice simmer weekend mommy & daddy decided to go to the Hun Fest in Baltimore. The streets were packed & my parents drove around for an hour looking for parking. They were very frustrated & decided it wasn't worth continuing to look for parking. Mommy suggested they stop by the MD SPCA to get some info on getting a dog since they had driven all the way out to Hampton. Since they had from Key West, FL mommy & daddy got an apartment together. They had decided it was time to take the next step & get a dog to make them a family. Daddy & mommy made an agreement in the parking lot of the SPCA that they were only looking & getting pricing info. Once inside they walked through the rows & rows of homeless dogs. They were trying to come to a mutual understanding as to what kind of dog would be acceptable & happened to stop by a cage with a dog that met all of the requirements they had. This dog was named Ajax & he just laid in the back of his cage as all of the people walked past him. for some reason when mommy & daddy came by the cage he walked right up to the door & started to sniff my parents. they both thought he was the cutest thing they had ever seen, but they had an agreement not to get a dog today. Heart broken they walked away from the cage & Ajax began to whine. They finally left the SPCA & started driving home. Mommy started crying on the drive & said she really wanted to bring Ajax home. Daddy was also sad at the decision to leave the dog behind. As they approached the exit to go home they decided to go back & get Ajax. They arrived back at the SPCA as it was closing for the day & were unable to do anything other than fill out an application to get Ajax. Since Ajax was listed as being a American Staffordshire mix there was also some extra steps that had to be taken before he could be brought home, so mommy & daddy would have to wait a few more days before they could get Ajax. Over the next 2 days they went shopping for doggy stuff & began to set up the house as they anxiously awaited Monday afternoon to arrive. That day they rushed down to Baltimore to bring their pup home & again there was a problem keeping them from taking this dog home. Mommy & daddy were very upset & were beginning to feel like this may not work out. They made the long drive back home with their heads hanging low. On Tuesday morning mommy received a call at work saying she had passed all of the requirements & could pick Ajax up that afternoon. Mommy squealed & cried with joy then called daddy to inform him of the news. They finally picked up Ajax on the way to their softball game that evening. Mommy & daddy didn't know it but this emaciated pup would soon steal their hearts & become the infamous Sparticus A.K.A. Sparky Biondo Bermudez ;-)
