What Would Sparky Do?

Dear Sparticus,
I am a 1 year old with a dilemma. My family announced that we have a surprise for our readers. I don't know what to do. I am very bad at keeping secrets & everyone keeps asking me what the surprise is. To top it off many people are thinking that my mommy is having another baby. While my mommy is experiencing this strange thing called baby fever that is not our surprise. It is taking every ounce of strength in my little body to not shout from the rooftops that my mommy isn't pregnant & tell anyone that will listen that we are getting a new dog. Since my family is still trying to find the perfect puppy to add to our family I am afraid I will jinx it by telling everyone. What would you do Sparky?

Sincerely,
Sworn to Secrecy in MD

Dear Young Spoiler of Secrets,
As a courtesy to you I have chosen to post your letter so as the saying goes the cat (or in this case dog) is out of the bag. No need to worry your little head about spilling the secret since I have taken care of that for you. Please feel free to tell everyone that you are looking for a puppy. I think it is awesome that you are adding a new puppy to your house. I also want to commend your family for making sure the new addition is a good fit with everyone involved. I definitely think that you should not worry about jinxing things. Remember your mommy's favorite saying "The Universe puts us where we need to be regardless of if we understand why." These are very sage words, so don't stress. Just know that the perfect pup will fall in your lap when it is meant to be. In the meantime have lots of fun playing with the perspective pups. They need all of the love & affection they can get until they find their forever homes. As for the pregnancy comments my retort is if everyone wants your parents to have another baby then tell them to start a baby fund. Once there is enough money to support a kid then maybe your mommy & daddy will be ready to take on this endeavor >:-) In all seriousness you & I both know that when the Universe is ready for your family to have another baby it will happen. I wabnt to wish you all of the best in your searches. Take care.

Lots of puppy love,
Sparky B.

Yay! A new puppy. I tried to add a friend for my girl, but after fostering several dogs I concluded that she prefers to be the only dog in the house.

I definitely recommend going the foster route if you can. You can always adopt your foster, but if it doesn't work out there are no hard feelings.
