My Hero

Robert: Let me start by saying that people who give lectures & critical opinions about how small kids shouldn't be around dogs need to get a clue. I am not saying that people who choose to not have pets or dogs are wrong. I am referring to these people that like to talk about their bottoms about dogs being dangerous for small children. Over the last 20+ months we have randomly found some of these people & we definitely didn't seek them out. We are very aware that there are bad people out there that do things to hurt dogs & make them mean *cough* Michael Vick *cough*. We are also aware that some people are not cut out to own a dog yet somehow have one. Dogs prosper best in a home that has the time, energy, & patience to properly train a dog to be well behaved. It can take some work but a dog that is loved & trained is not just be a pet but a valued member of a family.

Last night we had a strange event happen. I know, I know. We seem to be some sort of mecca for strange events. Moving on... last night once every one was in bed & my parents were just starting to drift off to dream land Tiger bolted from the bed. He went straight to my door and began whining & clawing at my baby gate. This is not the usual behavior for either our dogs after the lights are out & every one is curled up in bed. My groggy parent jumped out of bed to see what was going on. Mommy was first through my door. Instantly she could smell vomit. She turned the lights on to see me laying in bed with very wide eyes & making faces similar to a fish out of water. She rushed in & stuck her finger in my mouth the clear my air way. Yes folks I was silently choking on my own vomit. I never made any sounds of distress. My shook up parents don't want to think what would have happened if Tiger hadn't tried to get to me in my moment of need. I am fine now but it was scary at the time. I am so thankful for Tiger, my hero!!
