Tiger: Last week we had two very special house guests, Ginger & Brutus. Ms. Delania's family went on vacation & asked my parents to watch the dogs in their absence. Of course we were willing to help out. Our whole family loves Ginger & Brutus so there shouldn't be any issues. Right?
Well before any one went any where we had a doggy play date at our house to see how I would handle these 2 pups on my turf. Everything went well so the next evening we became a family of 5 for a week. Day 1 went by with no issues. Mommy decided to give Brutus a good brush in the morning even though Ms. Delania did it the day before. Much to mommy's surprise there was enough dog hair to make a second dog from. Other than that day 1 was uneventful. Although there was a great deal of comedy due to Ginger's queen of the mountain issues. That dog must climb to the top of everything.
Day 2 started off with the realization that Brutus is not like other dogs we have had in our house. Everything in our house had a fuzzy coating from his dog hair. We had furry tumbleweeds threatening to take over our house & we had hairy paratroopers floating through the air. This was when mommy decided we would be brushing Brutus daily. After another doggy brush out everyone was inside chilling while mommy did laundry. Mommy noticed Ginger growl at me over the food bowl. I blew it off & things went on as normal. A little later Ginger attempted to prevent me from getting food again & a dominance scuffle ensued. Please keep in mind that Ginger is a puggle so she is 1/3 of my size. I went easy on her but being bigger I still managed to hurt her some. It wasn't too serious (just a couple of scratches which she returned I might add) but it was enough to scare her into stop being such a bully to me in my own house.
By Day 4 everyone was in a groove. Mommy with her daily dog brushing, Ginger no longer being mean to me, & Brutus & I developed an awesome friendship. Of course if you can imagine things from my parents perspective it was quite amusing to watch 2 70+ lb dogs running & romping all over the house like small puppies. We had so much fun together those last few days. I really got sad when they went home. I spent 2 days looking for them & couldn't find them. Needless to say my depressive funk from Sparky's absence returned. I have returned to be sad, moping, & brooding. It has caused my parents to start searching for a new buddy for me. We have a few prospects so we would like everyone to cross their fingers for us. I really hope we are able to find me a new buddy that is a perfect fit for our family :-)
