Taking the Plunge

Tiger: Some of you may be aware that my brother has a birthday coming up. Bobby is very aware of that fact. Honestly I think he may be a little obsessed with it. Although I do believe he may also be a wee bit confused. He seems to think Santa will be bringing him birthday presents. Can you tell Bobby really has a thing for Santa?

One item that Bobby has asked for over & over & over again is a birthday fish. My parents were kinda iffy about this from the first moment our little man mentioned it. Truth be told I can see why. Have you ever seen the movie Finding Nemo? If you have you will know what I am talking about. If not you should watch it, it's a fabulous movie. Either way in this movie there is a little girl named Darla. Her uncle gives her a birthday fish every year & she shakes the bag resulting in a dead fish each time. Yeeeaaaahhhh, it doesn't help that the gleam in my brother's eyes every time he says he want a birthday fish could be deciphered as menacing ;-)

Well mommy took Bobby to Petco to get Trixie & I a few treats with our christmas gift card from Nana & the kids. Mommy was planning to talk to the fish people there about what if we got a fish. It turned out they were at the store during a beta event which coincidentally was the type of fish everyone had suggested to mommy if our family was going to go down the fish trail. Long story short... Trixie & I got a bunch of goodies while Bobby walked out with a birthday fish.

Once mommy & Bobby returned home it was time to get the fish settled in his new home, but first he needed a name. My parents asked Bobby what we should name the fish. Bobby gleefully said "B...O...S". My parents asked if he meant the fish should be named "Boss". I swear the sun shined out of his little face as he told them yes, his birthday fish's name is Boss. How can you argue with that? So now we have a bright beta fish named Boss & Bobby couldn't be happier :-)
