The Toddler Gala

Tiger: Bobby finally got his first real birthday party. He had so much fun that he keeps asking for another party. Silly kid ;-)

Bobby woke up that morning all excited because he knew it was the day of his party. Mommy took him to go pick up Aunt Kate & get some cool balloons (Buzz, Scooby, & Thomas Mylar balloons). While Mommy had Bobby out of the house daddy turned our house into a Thomas theme filled party central & blew up 50 balloons to surprise Bobby when they got back. I think his squeals of joy upon returning home could be heard in the next state.

Once the guests started arriving it was very hard to keep Bobby from ripping into the presents. We wound up opening presents about 5 minutes after the last person arrived. My brother made out like a bandit with a variety of goodies.

After presents mommy orderd pizzas for everybody & some of the other adults set up train tracks. Soon our house was turned into a giant labyrinth of train tracks & gleeful children. Once the food was here everyone ate then my parents brought out this paper train thing called a pinata. The kids had a blast hitting it with the plastic bat. After several rounds of toddler strikes Uncle Paul got a turn & was able to crack that bad boy open. Once the pinata was broken candy poured out of it. All of the kids swarmed in like vultures to a fresh kill. It was actually kinda scary to see those cute little faces twisted into something from a horror flick as their eyes filled with pure savage determination as they swiftly started swiping candy up off of the ground.

Finally it was time for cake. My parents went all out & got Bobby a coldstone creamery birthday cake. It was devils food cake topped with strawberry ice cream that had rainbow sprinkles & mini chocolate chips mixed in plus a whites icing & more rainbow sprinkles around the sides. As for the actual decorations my parents just had "Happy Birthday Bobby" written on it so that way they could make the top original & all about Bobby. Daddy took 1 piece of train track to place on top then put a Happy Birthday edition Thomas train on the tracks. Then mommy placed 3 of Bobby's favorite non Thomas character candles (Scooby Doo, Buzz Lightyear, & Mickey Mouse) in front of the birthday train. Bobby loved his cake as did everyone else.

While the adults sat around with full bellies the kids continued to play until IT happened. Just like in a movie when everyone is laughing or the music is playing then all of a sudden you hear a record scratch & everyone freezes the party ended. Bobby dumped a full container of fish food in Boss' tank. Adults grabbed kids to pack up while daddy swooped in to save Boss. In the end Boss survived & it was time for party clean up. Just like that the chapter closed on this event ;-)
