The Good, The Bad, & The Sick

Robert: We are back!!! My family has learned the hard way that toddlers & keyboards don't mix. My parents are still baffled as to how I did it but I managed to make our old keyboard stop working. Apparently there isn't a whole lot you can do online without a keyboard. Mommy was able to use her I phone to do a post title but it wouldn't register that she could type in the post body section. So that explains what happened with the bloggy updates. Moving on...

As always it has been a busy time period in our house hold. We have lots of news both good & bad. We will start off with the bad so we can end on a positive note...

Uncle Dave (daddy's older brother) was in a car accident down in Florida. It was pretty major & his car was totaled. At the hospital the medical staff became very worried when they went through their panel of questions & my uncle thought that Ronald Reagan was our president. After a bunch of tests it showed that there is bruising on his brain & a brain hemorrhage. This should be more than enough bad news but further testing revealed tumors in his neck & on his lungs. Yup, you guessed it, this is the second year in a row that we will have to watch a beloved uncle go through lymphoma Chemo treatments. Biopsies have been done & we are still awaiting a call with the results. Fortunately we know that lymphoma is "easily" treated. By this we mean there is a good survival rate. Unfortunately Uncle Dave has already had a fight with cancer & had 1 of his kidney's removed a couple of years ago. This makes our uncle very nervous about having a second form of cancer. We are going to continue to be optimistic until the doctors say otherwise.

I have also been under the weather for a little while now. Mommy still thinks it is a combo of allergies & the intensely painful snail pace of my third molar's arrival. This one is definitely taking it's not so sweet time coming in. It has made me very snotty & very, very cranky. With my constant snot drip I have been having lots of puking fits regardless of how many times mommy plunges & salines my little nose. I guess it just goes to show you that a combination of post nasal drip & a sensitive gag reflex are not a good mix. My household has become extremely sleep deprived since I wake up very uncomfortable & now also wail in my sleep. My parents are a little unbalanced now but are trying very hard to cope & be supportive. I, on the other hand, get tremendously excited when I see the baby Tylenol bottle because it means I will have some pain relief very soon.

On the financial front we are doing better but there won't be any vacations in our future... I'll get into that a little more later. My parents have finally paid off daddy's truck so that means we are a 1 car payment family now!!! Daddy is so excited to finally own his truck & to have paid a vehicle loan in full. The spa is still super slow so it looks like daddy's truck payment will go towards part of mommy's pay decrease. You would think it would be a plus that my parents paid off a lot of debt earlier this year with tax refunds & bonus checks. Ironically their credit now looks worse because most of our credit card companies dropped the limits as soon as they were paid off. After mommy flipped out on several customer service reps she was informed that it wasn't done for the normal reasons of truant or non existing payments. This is a result of the economical situation of the country. Well the credit reports don't reflect it is any one's fault but my parents so we will have to wait to refinance mommy's Nissan. Hopefully this country's economy will get better soon & things can go back to normal.

Lastly we would like to report that we will be moving into our new house on the 15th of this month. We are stoked. Not only is it a one level house so no more falls for mommy (well down the stairs anyway), but it is a HUGE upgrade. The house has a garage, laundry room, screened in patio, & a fenced yard. We are still doing cartwheels every time we think of our new house! My parents get to do the walk through of the inside next week then we sign the lease & get our keys. We have our new address & have been by the house several times to check the maintenance status in case we could get in sooner. We will be sad to leave the Taylors behind but they should be moving into their super nice housing soon. Mr. Jason made rank so they get to move to a whole new level of housing E6-E8. We will remain in the E1- E5 housing until daddy makes his next rank. We should know in June if daddy passed his rank test.

This summer shall bring lots of twists & turns. We should be getting orders by the end of the year since the USAF will put daddy in the mandatory move category in September. My cousin Rayne will be in MD for the summer as of May 29th. Plus we will have a whole new neighborhood to explore. Due to finances & the unpredictability of our life right now we will not be taking any major vacations this summer & will stay in MD while we watch our next chapter unfold. We will keep everyone in the loop about our adventures :-)
