Robert: Last night was National Night Out on base. Some of you may be wondering what this is... well let me tell you. It is an evening of military appreciation & a unique crime/drug awareness event. The event kicked off with a parade of the military police & fire rescue vehicles going through the neighborhoods then it was off to the big parade field for lots of fun.
Originally we planned on attending this event as a family but daddy got food poisoning & stayed home to worship the porcelain god. He told mommy that we should go without him. As a result mommy took me over to Miss Delania's house & we went over with them. Once we got to the event it was dinner followed by activities. Let me say these people sure know how to throw a party for kids of all ages. Outside of all of the free food there was giant moon bounces shaped like military stuff, games including a paintball field, demonstrations, face painting, & the coolest sprinkler ever. Mommy & I walked around for a little bit while Miss Delania's kids got in line for the moon bounces. We watched a thing with the K-9 unit then went off to get in line for the face painting booth. While we were in line there the fire trucks got in a line & turned on their hoses to spray kids who were hot (like I said the coolest sprinkler ever). I really wanted to join in on this but mommy was worried I would get trampled by all of the other kids who were too excited to watch for little ones. In the end I wound up watching a few other kids get trampled (no one seemed to have been injured) & the funny guy at the dunk booth while we waited our turn for face painting. I was a little leery of the lady doing the painting so she gave me a tiger arm & did mommy's face to help ease my fears. All in all we had a lot of fun & I was ready for my crib by the time we got home. Don't worry folks daddy is feeling better today too :-)
