Wii Fat

Tiger: My family has finally drank the kool aid... we bought a Wii & Wii Fit with part of daddy's bonus last night. My silly parental units were up pretty late getting every thing set up & goofing off. After a few rounds of snow boarding it was time to actually see what this Wii Fit thing was all about. I have to admit this is one cool invention. It has a way to track your activities, work outs, weight, BMI, plus it has a personal trainer & a goal setting program with a tracker. This was so above & beyond what my parents thought it would be.

After jokingly setting up profiles & doing the Wii Fit tests they were sobered up with the startling news that this program is no joke! This thing actually tells you where you fall on BMI charts, throws your weight right in your face (well maybe that was because it is a big tv that was displaying the number), then follows up with a gut punch by telling you your Wii Fit age. Well mommy's results were: 32 BMI, weight 170, & a Wii Fit age of 42! My mommy won't even be 31 until August. Daddy's results were a little better since the military makes him workout once a week. The other kick in the pants are all of the little facts it shoots at you like people with a BMI over 25 tend to get sick more. Uhhh..... sound familiar anyone?

Now please understand that my mommy is not big on sharing her real numbers here. Of course she will be the first one to complain about being fat or never having time to workout while stuffing her face with junk food & sweets. She is also a very big cheater when it comes to any kind of dieting & has a tendency to think starvation is the only effective weight loss solution. We are blasting all of mommy's dirty laundry in an attempt to get her on the right path. Mommy needs to get herself as healthy as possible to try to regulate the MS. While it is fine to talk battle plans there does come a time when action must happen. Mommy is in the process of doing a "life change". She is back to taking vitamins & is getting ready to start seeing a therapist plus enrolling in anger management classes. We hope before the summer comes she will feel strong enough to work on quitting smoking & on a better path to overall health :-)
