Tiger: So Sunday was this thing called Easter. Having family that lives out of the area usually means we celebrate holidays multiple times. This was no exception. Robert got a package in the mail from our Great Nana the week before Easter that had some summer clothes & a new book inside. Robert has already gotten lots of enjoyment from his new book during the reading portion of bedtime. We also received a package from the Seattle grand parents that same week with souvenirs from their trip to Europe. Daddy was super excited to see the mini Mariner's jersey that came for Robert. Now they can both send lots of love to daddy's team this season.
On Sunday Sparky & I were given a new toy & some chewies as soon as my parents got up. Apparently this day is so special that mommy doesn't have to work & we enjoyed having the whole family home for a day. After everyone had breakfast it was time for Robert to get his Easter basket. He had lots of cool stuff in there. Robert got a new summer hat, crayons, a new book, a baby camera, a new Scooby DVD, a stffed dinosaur wearing bunny ears & some weird things called Peeps. Robert likes to share these with Sparky & I. This never makes mommy happy, but we tend to be very fast & she usually isn't able to get them away from us... I hope she doesn't decide that the peeps were a bad idea. I would be very sad if she didn't buy them again.
My parents also exchanged presents but they did it earlier in the week. In typical Murphy's Law fashion we had a little incident in our house. I guess it will make more sense for me to tell you that story before I get into the presents.... About 2 weeks ago when daddy was doing his projects around the house (while mommy was at work) our daddy decided to vacuum the house as a surprise for mommy. Well like all good deeds this one didn't go unpunished. Daddy left mommy's vacuum out & I chewed the electrical cord into a bunch of pieces. Don't worry folks it wasn't plugged in, but it still broke my mommy's heart. OK back to the presents... Daddy got his present early because he was looking at the Target receipt & asked mommy why she bought the new Metallica CD. So after some embarrassment on mommy's part she fessed up & gave daddy his Easter presents: the CD & lots of Cadbury eggs. After mommy had vented about her Target shopping spree & their lack of vacuums in stock daddy had my mommy & Robert get in the car & head off to the PX (It's like a military Walmart). Daddy got mommy a new vacuum as her Easter/Mother's day gift. I know there are several of you out there thinking "Oh you shouldn't have. No really, you shouldn't have." but not my mommy. She was ecstatic when daddy decided to buy her a Dyson as her gift. Mommy likes to clean & was very sad to not have a vacuum after I kinda ate it.
So back to Easter day. After the household festivities we headed off to the annual Easter lunch at Mr. Chan's with mommy's family. Yes, mommy's family has Chinese food every year on Easter. I know... I think it is weird too but they have been doing it since before I got here. It was nice for every one to see Robert & how big he has gotten. Many were very impressed with his walking skills & everyone was greatly amused by the "chicken wing run". After a good meal & fun with the big family it was time to go home & chill out for the rest of the day :-)
