Sparky: Ok let me start by saying this is a vent & no it is not about the random picture mommy has put with this post. Who came up with the packaging for little kid's toys? If you have ever had the displeasure of opening a child's toy you will know a few things: 1) This person has never been around a child that wants to play with a new toy NOW 2) They are not very concerned about "being green" 3) They must get their jollies from seeing kids cry & parents scream. Let me go into a little more detail for you. Most toys for toddlers come in a package that allows you to sample the toy in some way like push a button to make it sing. So if you had a child with you when you were at the store they know they can play with it through the package. From the unopened box most toys are very deceiving. They look easy to open & get out for the child. Well once you open the outer box you are slapped with 6 twisty things holding random parts of the toy to the cardboard, more tape then any Christmas present received from a single man, holes that have string & random parts of the toy tied up. As a parent you feel like some one forgot to put a warning label on the package about needing a bomb unit to remove this "harmless "toy from the box. As you are sitting on the floor with all of your tools (scissors, screwdrivers, drills, flamethrower, etc.) you learn rather fast that most people cannot get the toy out in a time frame that is suitable to the child waiting to play with their new toy ( approx.10 seconds). So as you sit there feeling totally incompetent because you have no idea where to start this removal process you will have a toddler screaming, wailing, & gearing up for a full blown temper tantrum because they want their toy now, now, NOW! I want to know when did people need a security clearance or some advanced class in order to open a toy? Right now I think daddy holds the record in our house for getting a toy out of the package in the least amount of time (8.4 minutes). Is it asking for too much that it be easy to get a toy out of the package? Inquiring puppies want to know.

Security Clearance

Can you imagine my house at Christmas? There are only two of us to open all of these toys and three kids who want them opened now. I do love Birthday parties though. There are enough adults to pass all the toys around to get opened at once. It then becomes a game for the adults to see who can get their opened first.
