Tiger: Thankfully I am not making this reference about 1 person, but either way it has been a crazy few days with too much time spent with people that have medical training.
First up is the semi update on Auntie Janice. She had a PET scan & the results showed something on her other lung. She will be having a biopsy on Friday. She has officially started radiation treatments as of today. From what we have heard the brain tumor has grown as well. We are very worried about our Auntie & hope she gets better soon. It seems like it will be a long road but she is a fighter :-)
As we mentioned in our last post Sparky had a tick. Well he forgot to mention that it seems like he has an eye infection as well. He has been scratching his eyes on anything (sofa, beds, laundry, Bobby's highchair, etc.). Mommy made an appointment for first thing Monday morning. She & Robert took Sparky to the vet. Each day since Friday night Sparky has become more & more lethargic. Mommy was happy to see Sparky excited to go for a car ride, but it didn't last long. Once he got to the vets he was right back to being a lump of fur. The vet did this eye test where they put die on the eyeball with a plastic wand then shine a UV light on them. Sparky just laid on the table & didn't move. Now if you have met my brother you know this is extremely abnormal behavior. The vet was very concerned & asked mommy to leave Sparky for the day so they could do more tests. Mommy was a wreck. She did leave Sparky but cried the whole time. She even went straight to Ms. Delania's house to cry on her shoulder. When 3pm hit mommy called the vet & was told she could pick Sparky up. He has some cornea ulcerations (scratches) but this isn't the reason for the lethargy. More test results would be back on Tuesday. When Sparky got home he could barely walk. He walked into a few walls & fell over every time he lifted his leg to pee. My parents were assuming this was a side effect to the sedatives he was given. When they talked to the vet on Tuesday they found out that Sparky is anemic. The vet said that Sparky shouldn't still have issues with walking. My parents have had to watch him very closely to make sure he isn't getting worse on the mobility front. Since Tuesday evening Sparky has been on the upswing. He has a follow up appt with the vet the week of Christmas so we shall see what that brings.
Tuesday morning was a very early day for Bobby & my parents. They had to leave super early for mommy to make it to Bethesda for her Tubal Essure. It was very stressful & mommy was worried about leaving Sparky home. Mommy's procedure went extremely well. She was super drugged all day even though she was awake for the procedure. She said a lot of weird things & did some even crazier things (can you say tiramasu & buffalo chips for lunch plus swearing she was having braxton hicks contractions?). This is the part where I want to apologize to anyone that spoke to mommy yesterday. Chances are you noticed she was a little off & she probably doesn't remember anything she said... like her call to Nana. This has been a topic of much comedy this evening. Today mommy is feeling much better. She is still on some pain meds but she seems to be a little more like herself :-)
So with all of this going down what can you do? Hug your loved ones extra tight & let your toddler bake cookies* That's what we did (baking is one of mommy's favorite ways to cope with stress) :-)
*** No toddlers or dogs were harmed during the making of cookies. Adults put the cookies in the oven & pulled them out ***

Oh my. I'm so concerned about Sparky - what in the world could be causing that? I'm sure he's been tested for Lyme because of the tick.
I'll pray for you guys (on all fronts)! Keep those updates coming.
