Baby's 1st Snow

Robert: If you have been following the national news you know that the west coast has been slammed with snow in the past week. It boggles mommy's mind that they don't plow streets here or use salt. Of course daddy explained that salt can't be used because when the water runs off the salt damages the salmon population in Pugent Sound. Then there is the plowing situation... they only have 27 snow plows for the Seattle area. Daddy informed mommy that it only snows here every few years & it isn't a large amount, so it doesn't make sense for the city to pay money for lots of plows. I guess that makes sense, but it made for some very scary drives on Christmas day.

Since my parents were worried about taking me out unnecessarily on these crazy snow covered roads we decided to stay in on Friday. That means baby snow time in the yard! I wasn't too crazy about the whole experience. First I had to be put in layers of clothes plus a hat & mittens. That really made me mad. I don't like not being able to use my hands freely. Then my parents sat me down in the cold, white, wet stuff. I really couldn't move with the combination of the solid snow & all of the extra layers. Needless to say my 1st snow excursion was a short one, but don't worry my parents got lots of pictures anyway :-)

I'm exhausted reading about your Christmas! Sounds like you were BUSY with all kinds of twists and turns thrown in to make it memorable. It looks like you all made it through with flying colors. Kudos to you for a good family trip - those can be tough!!!! Happy New Year!
