The Dreaded Appt

Robert: Mommy was forced to come out of her denial bubble this week. The nurse from MS Pathways called to set up the appt for mommy to be trained to give herself shots. The nurse will be coming on Wed the 10th. Daddy will be taking a long lunch to be here for the meeting. The nurse will be showing mommy how to mix her medicine & do the shots. She will also be here to answer any questions. Mommy is very nervous about starting the shots. There is the obvious thoughts of having to give herself shots, but mommy is also afraid of getting sick. It may sound silly, but mommy loves being independent. Of course we have a lot of great friends that can help us if mommy gets really sick from starting the meds, but it means that mommy will have to ask for help. Many of you know how hard that truly is for our mommy. Now there is not a guarantee that mommy will get sick, but with the knowledge that a lot of people do have an adjustment period before their bodies get used to the shot it sends mommy on one of her tandems. My mommy always has to have a plan or else she tends to get a lot of anxiety. I believe the doctor calls this OCD. We will let everyone know what happens next week. I think mommy will do great & she is just being a little paranoid :-)
