Sparky: Last night we had a very scary late night. When mommy came home from work she was feeling a little off. She went next door to see Ms. Ki & asked her to take her pulse because she felt "weird". Ms. Ki told mommy her pulse was very week & wanted to know what mommy was feeling. Mommy informed her that she felt some pressure on her chest. This made Ms. Ki freak & told daddy to take her to the ER. Mommy tried to argue that it wasn't necessary, but in the end she lost the argument. My parents agreed to eat dinner first & call the MS nurse 24 hour hot line just to make sure it wasn't a possible side effect from the new meds. The MS nurse also told mommy to go to the ER since there was no way for her to tell whether it was mommy's heart or if she was having an MS attack where you get this bear hug feeling across the chest. With that mommy got off the phone & called Ms. Delaina to tell her what was going on. Once again Ms. Delaina became our family's knight in shiny armor & stampeded to the rescue. She told mommy to bring Robert down the hill to stay with her family while my parents went to the hospital. While my parents were gone my little brother had a lot of fun playing with Zach & was in bed by 8:30. Meanwhile I got lots of quiet time in the house all by myself.
My parents on the other hand were at the Bethesda ER until a little after 1 am. After lots of tests & time being observed by the nuerologists it was determined that mommy had experienced another MS attack. Since mommy's symptoms started to decrease in severity instead of increasing they agreed to release mommy & let her follow up with her scheduled MRI on Monday. They also turned her care back over to Dr. Hegde. Mommy was very scared when the doctors talked about keeping her in the hospital for a few day to give her steroid treatments. Luckily it worked out that she was able to come home to Robert & I. We will keep you posted on the outcome as it unfolds.
