Our Big Adventure

Sparky: My parents are in the final phases of packing. Things are very hectic in our house at the moment. My family will be leaving our house at 3 am to go to the airport to head off to Seattle, WA. It is with a heavy heart that mommy is leaving. See mommy has now found out this week that her Pop is dying from cancer & has been given 6 months to live. On top of that our Auntie Linda has been diagnosed with breast cancer & will be undergoing 6 months of chemo & 6 months of radiation treatment. Her breast cancer has spread to her lymph nodes so she will be having surgery to have them removed when the mass is removed. Mommy won't be here to celebrate Uncle Bill's final radiation treatment on Monday. Plus mommy is hoping that she is wrong & Uncle Darian won't propose to Aunt Kate on Christmas (not that this would be a bad thing... mommy just doesn't want to miss it). I know that there is never a good time to go away from home & leave family behind, but this has been a crazy year & mommy is having some troubles being happy to travel somewhere else for the holidays. Don't get me wrong mommy is still excited that daddy's family finally gets to meet Robert, but after some major overreacting & drama with the West Coast family this past week it has taken a lot of the joy out of this trip for our little family. It nearly killed mommy to see daddy so sad & hurt by such old & petty baggage. It made me very mad as well since it looks like my daddy may have to go back to war in late January & didn't need unnecessary stress piled on top of him. Mommy & I have agreed to put our sour feelings behind us if daddy is able to be happy. Needless to say this will be an interesting trip. Now lets leave all of these woes behind & move on.

Since I am the family guard dog, I get to stay home to hold down the fort while everyone is in Seattle. I can't wait to have the whole house to myself & finally have some quiet time. In the meantime the travel status is: Robert is down for a "nap", spare keys have been distributed for my care, suitcases are in the final packing stages, snacks have been purchased, & mommy is getting ready to take a 2 hour nap. Once mommy is up again she will go through the house for a final sweep & clean everything in hopes that my parents will come home to a clean house. LOL... little do they know that I have a puppy house party planned >:-)

We don't know if anyone will be able to post blog updates over the next 2 weeks so we would like to wish all of our friends, family & fans a safe & happy holidays. We love all of you :-)
