The Medical Update

Tiger: Well I think mommy & daddy are more confused now then before. Mommy had to go to Walter Reed to see Dr. Hegde on Wednesday. After he admitted he has never had an MS patient get pregnant (so he is out of his league at the moment) it was time to bring in the truck loads of specialists & their opinions. Here is the breakdown: No one agrees it is in mommy's best interest to be off all of the medicine right now, there is no way mommy can have any MS meds while she is pregnant, mommy needs to be in a 1 level house since she is at high risk for falling, mommy will need to be watched constantly by the high risk OB dept, mommy can't be treated with steroids for any attacks that may occur after the 2nd trimester, mommy will probably spend most of the next 9 months on bed rest, mommy will continue to have attacks most of the 1st trimester, mommy will not be able to work & be pregnant, mommy will not be able to take care of Robert & be pregnant. I'm sure there are a few more things but my little brain is overloaded at the moment. My family decided to take things one step at a time just to reduce the overwhelming amount of information & tasks. Daddy is off to start the process to move us into 1 level housing on base after his meeting in Columbia today. All of the doctors agree that no matter what path is chosen it would be in mommy's best interest to not have to worry about falling down the stairs. It is a big problem since mommy is always home alone with Robert. Not that any of us want to think about the bad stuff but Sparky & I don't know how to use a phone if mommy gets hurt during the day.
