Bye Bye Daddy

Sparky: Sunday evening mommy & Bobby took our daddy to the airport to go back to Iraq. As always it was a tearful goodbye for mommy. In case you can't tell from the goodbye pictures mommy was having problems making the camera work. This is what is referred to as operator error instead of a device error. It's ok, we will cut mommy some slack because we know she was sad.

Tiger & Bobby still don't get what is happening. I am the only "child" that has been through a deployment before. My parents told me that I have to help my brothers get through this since I know that daddy will come home. I will try my best to follow through on this, but no promises.

My family is thankful this is a short trip but we will still miss daddy every day he is not with us. We don't know if daddy will get to call home this time & the thought of no contact makes it seem so much longer than it really is. Mommy says we will do some fun stuff & make welcome home projects for daddy. We will have to wait to give you more details because 1) we aren't totally sure what we will be doing 2) we need to be somewhat secretive in case daddy is able to check the blog while he is gone.

Daddy, If you are reading this please know that we miss you. Also know that Tiger & I will protect mommy & Bobby for you. We are also on a mission. Tiger is keeping your side of the bed warm & I've got your pillow covered. We love you very much. Please stay safe & hurry home to us :-)
